i had a cockatoo named Zia, it was pretty much perched on my shoulder the whole day everyday (cd store let me take him into work) scared the hell out of my girlfriend though. she tried to “accidentally” leave the window open one day, didn’t work so she bought a cat. suffice it to say we broke up after the cockatoo went missing.
i was the same way with mine, the damn thing would sneak sips of my coffee if I wasn’t paying attention… and your ex is a terrible person for making that “accident” happen! How could someone not think this was cute?
tried to make up a moderately funny response: completely failed haha people gave me weird looks when i had zia on my shoulder at work, i wonder how they would feel if they saw that
Sorry about this ending up in my spam folder, but I found your website some time ago when I was looking for pictures of cockatiels, your site is adorable! 🙂
Those little birds are native to here, and the fig parrots, and like to get smashed rotten drunk on fermented guavas in the backyard in Summer, they really know how to party.
Also every time I see the heart I can only think of a women saying “Love” in an over-sultry voice. It makes the bird seem obsessed with him. It’s hilarious in my mind right now…
We had a cockatiel named Templeton for a LONG time. He was blown into our back door during a particularly bad windstorm, and my little brother pretty well rescued him. He was real touchy at first, and wouldn’t let anyone near him, some serious wind storm trauma. after about a year he chilled out, and was the most awesome bird ever.
then one day, a window was left open, and he just left. Flew out of the house. I told my little brother, that Templeton was a Super Hero, and he spent the last year recovering in our care, then went back to saving the world, Avian style.
first of all, your an awesome older brother, and second of all, that bird deserves a legendary title, I hope Sparticus can live up to Templeton one day 🙂
thank you for the kind words, I’m really happy you like everything 🙂 And writing this comic makes me wish I had a pet with a a gentleman’s class 🙂
I have to say, I absolutely love that cockatiel Sparticus. Next one I get, I’m so naming him after this bird. (I have 14 right now… parents won’t let me change any names…)
That bird is classy as hell and I hope to one day have one so magnificent.
I used to have a cockatiel, she was a damn fine bird, and sassy as hell 🙂
They are quite sassy.
Mine likes to peck me, but then again I cannot give her as much attention as she used to get because of our dog.
i think that bird is in love w/ him. or very whimsical

That is the cutest thing ever.
well not so much perched as grabbing a bit of my shirt and not falling off
she saw a certain hitchcock film when she was little and it apparently stuck with her haha
and i’ve never seen a cockatoo on a tech deck board but i must admit that is pretty damn cute
I’m not sure what the site is about, but apparently there is someone who has some interesting photography habits.

haha, since I work from home now, I may need to get a sidekick… and teach him how to scan my art and answer the phone.
YOU SHOULD GET ROBIN! wasn’t in those dark knight movies so i imagine he is looking for work
plus goes with the whole bird theme well
I’m sure he is, but I think I’d rather train a real bird, honestly, I can’t pay a REAL sidekick!
I love your cartoon Awesome ! what an artist so cute !

Plop. What a wonderful noise for a bird to make.

Haha, I may do other things than hearts from time to time, like angry symbols!
Sparticus makes me miss my old bird… what a champion he was… we taught him how to speak Greek lol used to freak the neighbours right out!
side note… last 3 panels look awesome!
a greek speaking bird? I bet he sounded devious, and thank you, I’m really trying to get better with each post 🙂
