What Friends Do
I had to do this because it was the very 1st comic strip I used to read. Β Honestly, this stunt worked out better for the imaginary tiger and such.
Also, thank you Denis (I think) Β π

It’s like Calvin and Hobbes… but retarded.
retarded, yes… but less crazy π
YESSSSS!
I didn’t read the blurb… oh god.
At least Chase is being flung towards shore. That lake looks mad shifty.
Like something those Jackass ‘tards would jump into. =x
It is shifty… damn lake monsters.
That’s awesome. Love the reference. π
And again I am amazed at how many different reactions you can get out of his face. =D
I’ve been playing a lot with coloring and linework, when the flashback is over, Chase and the others will probably look very different as well (especially the girls).
NOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!! (especially NO to Monty…He’s wonderfully awesome as is!)
Haha, no worries, Monty will stay the same π
Aw, no! Chase looks like me now. I *like* having a cartoon that shares my childlike sense of wonder and humour and general facial features. Damn, you’ll definitely make him look different now. I should have held my tongue…
As if this weren’t already one of my favorites, then you went and referenced my absolute favorite cvomic ever! I love you Scott!
Hah, thanks Symphonic, Calvin and Hobbs, Farside, and Peanuts pretty much took up countless hours of my youth π
Holy crap me too! Except…right now. I own the Calvin and Hobbes collection, and a lot of Far Side and Peanuts books. π
Hahaha!! This made me giggle out loud!
Then I’m more than happy that this strip was able to deliver that π
I love young chase’s pondering face, it so deep and full of thought. What do best friends do? The answer is what don’t they do my young lad.
Also chase (if hes not dead) needs to find a time machine and have some damper adventures with young chase.
I think big Chase could learn a lot from little Chase π
Awesome work~ This comic’s lol-factor just keeps getting better and better.
Thanks Meirnon, I can only hop ethings can still get better yet π

Much love to Calvin and Hobbes. π
I completely and whole heartedly agree.
The Moment I Saw The Red Wagon, I New Calvin And Hobbes As The Reference, Nice!
I still break out my brother’s old books and reread them π
Mine Got All Ruined When My Sister Too Over The Bathroom And Took Them Out Of My Reading Material Drawer And Placed Them In The Cabinet Under The Sink, Which Happened To Start Leaking….
So… Is Monty a projection of Chase’s grandmother’s doll? Is Monty the personification of Chase’s childhood fears, and therefore a metaphor of our dependence on those fears to justify our most deplorable actions (e.g. – beating the snot out of a gaggle of geese)? Is Chase a grander metaphor for humanity? Is the reason Chase and Taryn are so compatible because of their understanding and acknowledgement of how their fears dictate their lives? Is their bravery at the wedding supposed to be indicative of how acknowledgement of fear and the taming of it are the roots of courage? Does Chase sleep with the Monty doll under his pillow?
… THIS COMIC IS AWESOME!
DUDE. You are thinking WAY too much. Just embrace teh cr4zy.
Its like the better part of Calvin and Hobbs mixed with a little Charlie Brown in there! So cute!
THAT is what best friends do =)
Hmmmm, it is a good comic today. I just realized, was Montey bigger in the past?
hey scott so how the hell did monty get there on another world!
My childhood suddenly seems duller knowing that I never got to do that.
…
If you see pics appearing on the web off some 16-year old doing this, its not me. Honest.
Is it bad my first thought was “were can I get a red wagon at this hour?”
i love the calvin and hobbs reference <3
I grew up with Calvin and Hobbes. Its why I like comics so much today.
Well done Scott.
Awwwwwwwww The Calvin and Hobbes reference made my day. This is excellent. You never cease to make awesome comics.
What was your favorite Calvin and Hobbes book?
(Mine was the Scientific Progress Goes “Boink”)
You’re my #2 hero for this reference. Watterson is obviously the first.
Calvin and Hobbes has to be one of the best classic strips ever made. Well done tribute! Still balls-out crazy.
Um, quick question… When did Chase change his shirt?
I summed that up to be unexplained, mostly because I really, really hated that pink shirt he had on (I don’r know why it bothered my so much to veer away from earth tones, I so just had him change it.
love the comic, just started reading it about 3 weeks ago. just wondering what the update schedual is?
First off: Calvin & Hobbes = awesome. Secondly: I clearly recall having a similar thought to Chase’s as I launched off the gravel hill in my neighbor’s back yard on a sled… Another time we hung my neighbor up in the tree by his boots… Ah, good times.
Best friends do the coolest stuff.
it has been a life-long goal of mine to have my shoes come off when i sneeze because of mr watterson’s work.
Hobbes is not imaginary!! He is a real tiger. With real stripes. What a terrible thing to say.
Once again, scientific progress goes Boink!
I’ve always wanted to do that.
β¦With an ambulance on standby.
Skipping past all the comments, I’m sure a portion of which have already more or less stated the gist of what I’m about to exclaim…… CALVIN AND HOBBES REFERENCE!!!!!!
That is all.
I think…yep. This made my day. Thank you! Love the comic. (Sorry I’m fashionably late to the party.)
best calvin and hobbes reference evar!
You sir just made my day 8) Thank you for loving calvin and hobbes
May God bless you good sir for giving thine innocence to the great Hobbes. You are truly a gift from the great mustached walrus, Colonel Albert Winstonson.
May your hat never be flat.
WAH!! Calvin and Hobbes.Truly a classic. Thank you for bringing back such wonderful childhood memories while helping to create new ones. You are amazing! π
Calvin and Hobbes! π <33
