Panel 4 makes me cringe in a big way because oh god that knife is cutting into the corners of his mouth, but yet I’m also grinning in triumph because crazy Chase is coming out to play. Only you could do this to me, Scott.

Chase was sitting, then Destiny told him “It’s okay, I did this for a reason, you’re better off without it.” Not somethin he wanted to here.

I can’t tell if Chase is more in a derp rage or in a blood rage. I guess a little of both.
I think it might be that Chase leapt from a crouched position. We’re not actually a species that good at things like that, we tend to flail a bit…
I’d say he’s in a deep rage. Because when he was in a derp rage he was definately more pointlessly destructive, like he would’ve gone through a few trees before getting to her. and in a blood rage, he just looks Dark. Also, look at his eyes, they look so… hollow… so empty… More pain and lose and panic then hard set rage. Just saaaaying.
So this knife is not the knife in Templeton’s head in Motokool, the handles are different. Although this could be written off as the art changing, but I really hope it isn’t I don’t want Chase to become templeton.
That /and/ if it were the same knife, it would have to be Mr. Mills that put it there, not Destiny.

Ah but remember, Templeton killed Grandpas wife. So he then went and shoved the knife in Templetons face. Meaning Chase could theoretically kill Destiny, Mr.Mills recovers from hospital to discover his wife is dead and uses her knife to stab Chase creating Templeton. All of this is theory, but indeed possible.
But remember the note, iirc was a lovey dovey letter from the wife to Templeton. The theory breaks apart there, unless we are talking for some Jerry Springerish “I dated your daughter but now you wife loves me” story line…

I mean, there are some Glasgow variants in some comics, but almost noone knows them, so it’s more likely you meant the Ledger’s failed take on the Clown Prince of Crime…
That whole series was aiming at a darker take on the whole batman theme. As far as fitting that theme and performing a role to the best of his ability (which was fucking superb), Heath Ledger did just that. He made the joker real, enough so that if you go to google images it’s just as popular as some of the more iconic Joker’s of the past.
I am. And while I do know the issue that is typically had with Heath Ledger’s Joker, namely the lack of manic behavior and enjoyment and a focus on the anarchistic destructive and somewhat suicidal side of the Joker’s personality, I do not care. I enjoyed the performance greatly, I’m sorry that you did not, and that is that. I liked it, you didn’t, let us not drag down the comic debating who’s right because we both have our opinions and a right to them.
Crazed flying chase is now going to be my go-to image for every profile ever. Also, I would like to see some savage rage against koalas.

If you’ll notice the subtext for the last couple of posts, it’s been updating more regularly since about two months ago, so the year and a half break was moot. Best just keep up with this and find something else to hold your attention in the week+ downtime.

Ok, so here’s my theory. Nerf-this is the middle section of this whole trilogy, with Scout being a prequel and Motokool being a sequel. In Scout what we know is that the ink in the tattoo’s is what gives them their powers. Too much of this ink, or if it is applied incorrectly, causes one to lose their minds. I have a guess that this ink is made from the blood of monsters like Monty. Scout is Chase’s great great cousin or father or something, and has passed his genes (and ink powers) down to Chase, thus giving Chase his incredible power. Chase, or at least the little bit of him that is made of monster ink, loses his shit when Monty is “killed” and ends up killing Destiny, which spins the whole world into chaos. Chase’s girlfriend is actually pregnant, and when Chase goes mad she escapes and finds her father. She has the baby, dies, and her father raises his grandson in secret in Ireland or Scottland or whatever. Chase, so anguished over the loss of his best-friend and his wife, goes crazy and becomes crazy paper face. Thus he chases after the ones that he felt “killed his wife”.

Almost. I think you’ve got the wrong order though. Nerf This is the prequel and Scout Crossing is the ‘middle’. Motokool is definitely last. Chase is probably the First/Last Human King in the Motokool portrait, or at least one of his descendants. I like the monster blood=ink theory but I’m fairly sure the Chase bloodline starts with Chase/Taryn, or there are at least some Mills family descendants. In Scout Crossing Finn looks like he could be Nergil’s offspring in my opinion, which would probably contribute a bit to his personality. Scout actually looks kinda like he could be Tony’s kid, while Ruggles is almost certainly in the Mills family. I also think Motokool being in the future is way further into the future than people think. Jarvis and his Grand-da or whatever he calls him are almost certainly descendants of Chase/Taryn. It’s possible they are descendants of Scout but considering the mixture of personality traits of Chase/Taryn in Jarvis and the Mr. Mills-like figure the grandfather represents it’s probably the former. As for Templeton I really don’t know, though Destiny’s dagger looks suspiciously like the one that was stabbed into his head.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Finn and Nergil were the same person, actually, and the ink was some combination of monster blood and Nergil’s badass wizardry.
Nerf This and Scout are not the same story. They are connected via a character, but not one of the obvious ones. Additionally, Nerf and Scout both happen in around the same generation. Nerf This and Motokool are directly linked, though….two parts of one story.
Connect the three stories, everyone. Connect them and keep connecting them. This can only be fun.
