Bearly Fortifying
Tweaking the way I do my coloring and line work (Hope you like!) The bigger difference will be seen when we get back to the girls and Chase. I’m a whore for drawing Mr. Mills the way he is. Still weird to me how I used to draw these back in the day. Also, random animal fact of the day!
Not sure if it would be a good idea, but I never have, and want to kind of get into drawing commissions. Oh, follow me on Twitter if you have a spell!
I’d love to see.the koalas again.. Maybe this time it’s its aunt of the killer koala
I swear, and I’m promise you, this won’t end without a murdered koala one way or another!
I had to flip back and forth between the pages to figure out why this looked so different (and that’s not a bad thing at all!) At first I wanted to say “It’s much less shiny” but that seemed dumb. The colors are a bit more muted, it seems. It also took me a bit to realize that everything looked really odd because it didn’t have the… the faint paper texture to each panel. On one hand it seems the same, but it feels vastly different. As always though, you draw a fine bear-murder comic Ser Scotticus.
It’s like a call back to some earlier ones.
The new art style looks good, but I was a big fan of how it was in previous pages, so personally I will miss that 🙂
Nothing is set in stone, so things may go back to the way they were if I can’t keep making improvements.
it…
it looks so real… 😀
Anything about the book? Last I seen there was a post for emails if we moved since ordering.
Scott, I love your comic and have been reading it for years; watching your style change and improve. It is my honest criticism that this style seems flat. The depth that was apparent with you previous style is missing. It reminds me of other comics I’ve seen where the artist stopped at flat colors. But, I am just 1 person in the vast sea that is Teh Interwebz. Good luck!
This style looks more real, but the previous is so full of life and magic!
Kill the poor guy’s deadly Bear army….then not help him ? For shame Mr. Mills !
This new artstyle is not bad by any means. It is a step towards… realism? I guess. Seeing how the colors are all more natural and… well, boring to be honest. I really prefer the less realistic, more colorful and vivid style. When I clicked “Next” it felt like someone sucked out the life from this page.
I’m not an artist so I can’t really explain it.. I just love the previous page’s style more than this new one’s.
Only Mr. Mills can address a man 200+ years his senior as ‘Kid’.
…how old do you think Nergil is? From the looks of the old “filler” comics and the comics about Monty’s past, I’d say he got cursed in the early 20th century.
I think he’s old as balls.
That’s assuming Mr. Mills is younger than Nergil.
I mean, look at that mustache? Do you really think he could cultivate that level of manliness in only one lifetime?
