The “Indie Gogo” page which everyone used to order books, has been deleted. So I and others don’t even think he has our info at all anymore. (Something that could be cleared up, if the time was taken to respond to people’s concerns.)

I’ve been sitting back for a few months catching comments here and there about you and other readers who have yet to hear anything about the book, concerning Scott. I will, however use some past knowledge that whoever he’s running the store with now, may have access to the information (I think it’s the guy from L.A.W.L.S or something, just click on the store link to try and figure it out.)
I’m know I’m taking a shot in the dark saying that someone new is supposed to be handling the book issues now, but I know I’m not crazy.
Overall though, I find it appalling that Scott hasn’t personally just sent emails back to every individual regarding the book that they invested in, and is ignoring their attempts for answers.
I know it may seem harsh, but this will result in me dropping this comic from my reading lists and not suggesting it to others in general. I don’t feel comfortable enjoying an artist that is flaky with their readers, and apparently, a douche bag to boot.
Same here, i really did like it, but i just can’t enjoy it anymore knowing what’s going on in the back now. Hope you guys get your money back.
Way to harass an artist dumbass. Tell me, have you tried contacting anyone through the store (rushhaven.com)? Have you talked to D. Caron (creator of LAWLS comic)? If not, then you’re complaining without good reason. Scotticus stated months ago that all book information was transfered to rush haven and any questions should be directed to d. Caron. You throwing a raging bitch-fit at scotticus in the comments isn’t going to improve the situation. Also, considering the recent changes and health issues in his life, I can’t help but think you are a selfish piece of shit for thinking this is the appropriate place and time for such a rant. I want to make it clear that I have no ill will towards Scott. I am not trying to be mean, rude, or obnoxious. I, and many others, just simply want a refund of our money. I gave my hard earned money to support this artist, and the deletion of the Indie Gogo account, the ignoring, it all just feels so disrespectful. It has ruined my whole Nerf This experience. When we ordered the book, I had just lost my job and been diagnosed with a serious chronic illness. Things were so hard (which, it would seem, Scott should understand, having difficulties himself lately.) But I wanted to SUPPORT something I loved; support an artist I BELIEVED in. Something that brought a smile to my face, despite the problems my life held. Since all attempt over the last 6 months to contact via a more private means have been ignored, people are forced to post here.
I went back to refresh myself on what exactly the stated book status was when the whole ordering began. It has been 8 months since Scott posted “the book is FINALLY done, spent the whole day to make tweaks and get it off to the printers :)”.
In November 2011, many people asked for status updates. Someone was told then “late this month, or early next month” which, according to the date stamp, would have been November/December.
At the end of the year someone also posted for Scott, stating that he (Scott) had the books and was prepping them to ship. Again, this was 8+ months ago.
Dude, we get it. You want a friggin refund, and I’m pretty sure Scott knows this. Now I don’t mean to be “this guy” but get yourself some goddamn patience and shut up already. Seriously, you don’t need to rant about it. Again, I’m sorry for being “this guy” but you could have used two sentences asking for a refund. Sorry again, I just needed to say that.

It has been a YEAR of politely asking. A year of being ignored via all platforms of communication. Scott knows people are upset? That comment just makes him look like a complete piece of crap. He knows, but ignores everyone? So I am trying something different. Perhaps you are okay with just passively standing by while someone rips you off, but I am not.

Ok. Be fair. Ana has a point. If no reply comes to such messages, something is surely going wrong. I bet it would be enough if Scott could’ve written that he’s under lots of pressure and can’t really focus on the refunds right now. If people are without information they get unhappy and they don’t know what’s going on and what’s the reason said information is missing.
So on, I like reading Scott’s stuff and I’ll be happily reading further, but some issues have to be addressed.

As my father always says, if you got time to complain then you got time to work. So work those 3 hours of minimum wage and BAM! you have now earned money that is a little more than the book costs :l

Hope you get it all worked out scott. From what I’ve read of your posts in the past you hadn’t been taking very good care of yourself and sounded like you were taking on way too many tasks at once. Sometimes you have to stop being the nice do it all guy and make stern decisions. Hopefully you’re getting everything in order right now. The comic is great but it can wait until you get your priorities settled, get this book fiasco settled, and quit killing yourself slowly by not taking care of yourself.
YES Scott should pay attention to those who bought is book and not fuck them over, but why would you reveal such personal information. I don’t get how you can be so focused on getting a COMIC BOOK (or refunds, whatever) when you have much more pressing matters to attend to in your personal life. I’m sorry, it’s just LOSING YOUR JOB and gaining a CHRONIC ILLNEES seems like way more of an important issue than getting refunds on a book.

Well usually when people lose a job AND begin suffering a chronic illness they can fall into this thing called depression and try to cling on to whatever source of happiness they can to keep from doing something they or their families would regret. Just saying…….motherfucker.

Are you completely incapable of reading? This situation has NOTHING to do with “Harry Potter”. JK Rowling does not create a page begging for funds to get her books published.

Scott agreed to Indie Gogo’s terms of service. By soliciting funds and offering rewards via their site, users create a binding contract. Who cares if they only made one attempt at contact? What do they need to do, hold his hand? Scott was in violation of their terms of service. He completely ignored them, AND all his customers/fans.
You miss the ENTIRE point. People don’t care so much about the wait or the delays; they care about the blatant, shady and disrespect of being ignored for a year. Scott doesn’t give even the smallest amount of a crap to take 60 seconds to publish a REAL update on the situation. He still pumps out a comic every month or so – he was even pushing sales for ANOTHER PRINT BOOK a few months back. But he can’t respect his fans enough to give them some kind of solid information?
The real issue here is not delayed books; it is about taking everyone’s money and completely blowing them off. Problems? Delays? It happens. I have waited great lengths of time for other things. Things that were delayed longer than this. But those other creators actually gave a shit – they updated their supporters. They answered questions. They offered apologies and reliable communication. That is ALL anyone has asked for. Ever. I didn’t even request a refund until I had been ignored for SIX MONTHS.
I have every right to be frustrated and to want a refund. I am tired of idiots like you trying to insult me and give me a hard time because I want my money back. It has NOTHING TO DO WITH YOU. If you are fine with Scott keeping your money, more power to you.
If you are in the “same boat” as having solicited funds for a material good, and then ignoring your fans for a year… then I am sorry, but you are a moron. There is just no excuse for that sort of careless disregard. I am glad that you feel content with your shitty service and not-give-a-shit attitude towards your customers/fans, but I’ve got no respect for it. If you cannot manage simple adult concepts like follow through and communication, then that is very sad.
Thank god, I missed the several-times-a-week updates. I’ve fallen in love with this comic since Nergil wanted the monster in Chase’s pants. Around cops that had me busting a gut.

it works like a political cartoon. the pony represents her prissy girly demeanor and the “thug lyfe” is the language she’s using. the little stress ball guy is the quality of smack he’s talking to her, so the horse biting the little stress ball guy is the fact that he’s getting owned in the argument. : )

A comic with the Victorian drawings is not an update but a cheap stall. Instead of three comics all being update on a monthly basis, I would much rather have 1 good comic updating even once a week basis. This is getting silly.

Is it bad that I come back to watch people’s comments just get angrier and angrier as updates lag? It is getting kind of amusing.
It’s amusing how entitled people act towards free webcomics.
I think it’s less about feeling entitled than it is about getting their hopes raised up and then to have scott not follow through. It’s frustrating to enjoy such a well done comic every day to have it trickle to a couple times a week down to a comic every 2 weeks and not hear a word during those two weeks from the author as to why things have come to this? I’m more concerned than mad. I wonder what’s going on IRL for him that would make him disappear without a word. If we got some notice of how he’s been, that would go a long way to easing people’s minds (not the book people though i’m sure, but that’s a whole other clusterfuck). I hope he’s dong well, but it would be a great service to the fans if he would pop on and say “hey, i’m fucked up but still around”.

I have enjoyed this comic (and your others) since I stumbled across them. While I still check each MWF for a new comic, take care of yourself first. When your health and job are both doing well, time for the comic will come.
