…Why is Mr. Mills following Zoey??
I believe he’s following Ex-Shadow Guy and Zoey to make sure they arent causing trouble in anyway that might hurt his daughter and future son/bear wrestling partner-in-law
I think Zoey managed to get included as a baby bird by virtue of being his daughter’s friend. Nergil just needs to not screw up, especially now that he’s mortal again.

“Just keeping my baby birds safe, Jack” is one of the most adorable comments I’ve ever seen Mr. Mills make. It makes me want to tacklehug him, except that such an act would probably ensure my untimely death.

Does anyone else remember that guy in the trenchcoat at the carnival who looks remarkably like this guy? Also, I’m pretty sure Mr. Mills has a beard – this guy doesn’t. I’m thinking… Zoey’s dad?
At first I was cautiously curious about how those two knew each other, but then it hit me. Their both leaders in the secret society of mustaches. Mr. Mills heads the Ragestache division obviously. Jack leads the friendlystache sector. The head of the society is the mysterious and stylish Dapperstache! Mr. Mills will someday take Chase under his wing as his aprentice to teach him to harness the might of the Ragestache.
Have to wonder if he was there to pick up something for his wife originally.
