5am? Please… some people might be tired, but I feel this is prime time for getting myself a battle owl. Now all I need are battles and one owl. Anyway, I hope you enjoy the post, I’m trying some new things with the art so I’m sorry if it looks a little wonky.

If you are looking for specific feedback: 2nd panel, Taryn’s smile is off because that degree of smiley-face is impossible with a wide open mouth. While exaggerated effect often works (Panel three’s chase is a great example), that combo can be… disturbing. Great for a Cheshire cat, not so great for someone not piloting directly into the uncanny valley. If you look, Zoey 3rd panel last comic does the same thing.

That said, on the whole, the recent improvements to your style are evident and markedly better, from my point of view. The poses are significantly more lifelike, and the facial features are more expressive. Good on you for stretching your talent to make it grow, thus making the dissonance from hitting “first” that much greater. Well done.

  Thanks for the feedback! I still have a long way to go, but I feel I might be heading HOPEFULLY in the right direction. Facial expressions are something I’m going to focus more on, for the joke/punchline sake, and just a bit more eye candy.

    Part of it I think is the overlap of the top lip vs bottom lip due to perspective for Panel 2 on Taryn’s closeup, it made me think of a fish mouth, where the maxillary extends to cover the mandible. I think this is part of what gives it that somewhat off look.

I <3 Nigel so hard. Love how he just randomly pops out of the bush like he just showed up. So Q though. he is back in his dark wizard form. Is it because he needs to regenerate? only reason I'm asking is because he has only gone into that form one other time, right before he was about to fight Destiny. So either he just did something super bad or something else is going on….

I like the way this art style is heading, if you’re looking for feedback. Panels one and three look amazing, two and four are a little bit strange. They just don’t have a good feel to them. Keep up this trend of updates, sir! I was honestly surprised when I saw two Monday updates in a row, and now we get ANOTHER on Thursday? You spoil us, Scott, you magnificent bastard.

So glad you’re updating again, I normally never comment but I really just wanted to say I’m super glad you didn’t give up. I spend about 55% of my internet time on web comics (the other 45% being homework and porn) and I’ve seen a lot of really good comics disappear. Thank you for keeping this up
