Haha I didn’t know a bird could be made to look as elated as Higgins does in the second panel. It’s like in my fair lady when they stayed up really late and Audrey Hepburn finally grasps how to speak like a lady. I picture higgins and Humphrey singing and jumping around on the furniture.

Hmmm, but wait. Those two fellows were watching him the whole time and one just asked if she had “exited”. Also, bear in mind that Monty has not increased in size sufficiantly to have consumed her (unless it was just a misdrawing). His cheeks are still red, but his eyebrows are now in puzzled mode, but with a mouth full of feathers. And monty is such a sweet soul.

I put forth an alternate theory of events. I put forth that sc0tticus is having the mickey with us, just to see how low we, his readership, truly is and what depraved minds we really have. I say that Monty only attempted to kiss her back, and, due to lack of experince, botched it. He is now left with a mouth full of feathers and egg on his face.

At least, this is what I am telling my neice who happened to look over my shoulder at my computer and burst into tears (fortunately was able to cover the comments section).

hmmm, well if you are a little thrown off about monty’s size ratio to him being able to eat the bird, then you should probably take into consideration that monty is a monster that does not exist in the real world, and that birds and insects don’t speak and dress up in clothing. I would sincerely hope your niece didn’t break into tears, and if its any consultation, that pigeon was bad news for him, and you are correct, he didn’t really intend to eat her. Monty didn’t really intend to convey his feelings in such a manner, he just never had such a situation occur before. He is sweet, and almost naive, but I hope that doesn’t take away from his character
